I’m a woman in my 20s registered with Universe Club. While I was a student, I worked part-time recruiting event staff and introducing registered staff members to available assignments. (Sorry, that’s a bit confusing…) Does Universe Club not hire part-time staff? While I’m waiting for an offer, I’d be extremely motivated to work for you, even as a part-timer. I’d also be interested in hearing your thoughts from the perspective of handlin...

💬 Answer from 前澤(スタッフ): Maezawa here. Unfortunately, we don’t hire women who are registered with us. When someone is hired, they sign a confidentiality agreement regarding the handling of information, and there are penalties for violations, so in principle, it might be possible to employ them. However, men understandably wouldn’t feel comfortable knowing that a woman they’ve gone on a date with might be working here—even with a confidentiality agreement in place. That’s the reason.

It seems the discussion about the new venue is more advanced on Hostlove’s Universe board than here, where a noteworthy, Columbus’s-egg-style proposal was made: “The new venue should be invitation-only.” It would be a shame if the new venue got off to a bad start, so shouldn’t this be considered urgently?

💬 Answer from 前澤(スタッフ): Maezawa here with my answer. I’m not sure what the staff at the new location will think, but if it’s invitation-only, only members from Universe will be able to join. If that’s the case, it seems like there wouldn’t be much point in opening a new location. If it’s going to be invitation-only, wouldn’t it make more sense to do it within Universe itself? For example, you could create a tier above Black—Diamond, perhaps—and invite only the more gentlemanly members of Universe…

I’m a woman. Are the contacts for registering with a new club and with a regular club different? Even if I go to a standard interview and am considered very attractive, does that not mean I’ll be registered with the new club?

💬 Answer from 前澤(スタッフ): Maezawa here with some answers. > Are the contact points different for registering with the new club and registering with the regular club? Yes, they are handled separately. > If someone goes through the regular interview, does that mean she can’t register with the new club even if she’s exceptionally attractive? A question about the new location. I’m currently Platinum and thinking of upgrading to Black around next month. So my question is: if the new location launches, will there still be any benefits to becoming Black? Of course, being able to make offers to Black women would be one benefit, but I’m concerned that if special women, such as those in the Secret category, move to the new location, the benefits of becoming Black may decrease sign...

💬 Answer from 前澤(スタッフ): Maezawa here. The new club is a separate organization. It also seems to attract a different type of woman. So even if someone is blacklisted by Universe, that won’t reduce the number of people blacklisted by Universe. For that reason, I do think there are benefits to blacklisting them. Of course, there is a possibility that women who originally intended to register with Universe may be drawn to the new club instead. But the same thing could happen whenever another dating c…

Why does the new club require male members to be at least 40 years old? These days, there are more diverse ways to make money, and there must be many men in their 20s and 30s earning over ¥40 million a year. I assume you based the membership requirements for male members on those of other long-established dating clubs, but I feel this age restriction is outdated and reflects old-fashioned thinking.

💬 Answer from 前澤(スタッフ): Maezawa here. We set the minimum age at 40 because men over 40 are more likely to have plenty of life experience and have been through various hardships. We felt that people like that would be less likely to make women uncomfortable. You could say it’s a place for adults. Of course, there are surely gentlemanly, mature men who understand other people’s feelings even at 35 or 30, so deciding where to draw the line was difficult. However, generally speaking, we felt that few…

I’m a new employee who would like to register with my face blurred because I’m worried about being recognized. 💬 Answer from 逢沢 大和: I’m in charge of events. Aizawa is late to the discussion as well, but here’s my response. Having a line of men waiting to meet one woman sounds amusing in a way—it would look a bit like an idol meet-and-greet—but it seems difficult to create any real benefit for the men. Could you introduce videos for the men as well? If women could watch them before receiving a formal offer and decide, “Absolutely not,” it would save us a great deal of time and money if they simply declined the offer. It would also spare the women from having to spend time in an uncomfortable situation.

💬 Answer from 斉藤さんだぞ♪: This is Saito, the columnist ♪ When I read your question, I briefly thought it was a request from a woman. At the same time, I wondered what percentage of men post photos on their profiles, as Mr. Maezawa mentioned. (I might ask that in the question box myself!) It would be wonderful if women could get a sense of a man’s overall vibe from his profile. Maybe I should post a photo on my own profile, too. Though I probably won’t. Naomi-style answer.
