Since everywhere is closing early, I wanted to ask what everyone is doing for meals these days.
Before the reduced hours, we usually had a relaxed dinner at a restaurant for about two hours starting around 8 p.m., then went to a hotel.
Since both my papa and I meet after finishing work, we can’t change our meeting time, but restaurants are closing early now, so I’m at a loss.
My papa buys deli food or sushi from the basement of a department store, but since he gets there right before closing, it’s usually the discounted stuff, which doesn’t exactly put me in the mood.
I do appreciate him going out of his way to buy it, though…
I know some things can’t be helped in the current situation, but I can’t help comparing it to the course meals we used to have. My papa, whom I used to like, is starting to seem stingy to me.
He also doesn’t seem interested in Uber Eats, saying things like, “It doesn’t look tasty for the price.”
What are you all doing?
I can’t wait to go to a nice restaurant again.

I usually schedule the first date for around 6 p.m.
For subsequent dates, we might order room service at the hotel, or buy some cake outside, chill it, and eat it together.
It’s pretty harsh to call someone stingy when you’re not being taken to a cheap hotel or having your allowance reduced.

It’s only discounted because of the time of day—the contents are basically the same, right?
Don’t you feel that you’re being treated well and valued, rather than handled carelessly?
He went all the way—really, all the way—to the department store basement, bought it because he wanted to eat it with you, and brought it over.
If you don’t like it, why not get something yourself?

My papa (a male supporter) likes beer and wine, so reduced business hours and the ban on serving alcohol seem to be pretty hard on him. I hardly drink, though, so it doesn’t really bother me.
When we have to meet late, like the person asking the question, we either order Uber together, or my papa buys something in advance from the supermarket beneath a department store or a convenience store. Since I’m trying to lose weight, I don’t mind eating something as simple as natto from a convenience store.
Lately, the two of us sometimes go to a takeaway salad shop, too. I feel like it’s helping me stay on track with my diet, so I’m happy with it. Maybe you could look at things from a different angle as well and find other ways to enjoy it, such as being able to eat healthier food.
