I think it’s probably just your imagination.
For one thing, where someone lives now and where they’re from aren’t always the same.
So if you judge people based on their current address and think, “People from this region are like this,” they may actually be from somewhere completely different—in which case, there may not have been any real pattern at all.
People are easily influenced by suggestion. Once you start thinking that people from a certain area are a certain way, it gradually begins to feel true.
But it’s probably just your imagination.

Based on my experience across Japan, the farther north you go, the more equal and open people tend to be. The farther south you go, the more reserved they are and the more they expect to be treated like royalty.
I prefer the south, but my partner is from the north.
Other than that one point, we get along well.
