Universe Club is not a public institution, so if we feel that a member is not suitable for the club, we can remove them from the club. We can also temporarily restrict access to their profile or hide it from view.
A staff member who feels offended can hide a woman’s profile, but we don’t simply leave it hidden without explanation.
To justify the decision, we add a reason.
Usually, it’s something along the lines of: “If this woman went on a date with a man, he would probably feel offended in the same way, so she isn’t suitable.”
Other reasons may be added, such as, “She might cause trouble for the men,” and so on.
There’s also an underlying culture where men quickly complain, “Why are you allowing a woman like this to register? Remove her immediately!”
But, ideally, neither of these things is right.
Universe Club provides opportunities for people to meet, but we don’t employ the women.
I believe it’s fine to have all kinds of women.
So I’d like men to think, “She wasn’t right for me, but it’s good that there are women like that too, because it gives the club variety.” And I also feel that staff shouldn’t hide someone’s profile simply because they personally felt offended.
