I think they make their decision based on the overall picture, so even if your teeth aren’t perfect, you may still be accepted if you have other standout qualities. If people around you consider your teeth normal, they probably won’t count for or against you. In that case, I imagine the decision would come down to everything else. It’s not something that’s decided based on your teeth alone, so I think you should try going to an interview first. That said, very few people pass the SALON interview, so why not apply to Universe instead? If you mention that you’d also like to try SALON, the Universe staff will probably brush it off if they think you’re unlikely to pass. But if they think, “This person might have a chance at SALON,” they’ll contact the SALON staff and arrange a separate SALON interview for you. However, even if the Universe staff think you have a chance, quite a few people still fail the SALON interview, so it’s best to keep that in mind.

It’s really a matter of degree, so asking here probably won’t resolve it. If you don’t feel brave enough, I think it’s best to leave it alone. By the way, it seems that the salon rejects a fair number of applicants at the interview stage. Universe Club probably has more lenient entry requirements.
