I think the kind of woman A considers good may be different from the kind B considers good. Some people prefer shorter women, while others prefer taller women. Some like extremely slim women, while others prefer women with a fuller figure. That’s why I feel we should perhaps allow more women with potential to register. That said, the basic policy is, as the representative has publicly stated, to accept women whom we believe are likely to receive offers. In reality, each staff member has a different opinion on that, and I feel that about half of the women who were rejected might have received offers if they had been allowed to register. It makes me wonder whether it’s really right to cut off their opportunity when they might have had a chance if they’d been registered. Even so, from that staff member’s perspective, the judgment was that she wouldn’t receive any offers, so it wasn’t necessarily a mistake. Still, I keep wishing there were something more we could do about it… And yet I’m still unable to do anything. This is a difficult issue, to say the least…
