If I meet a man and feel ready to move on to the next stage, would asking him to use protection or get tested for STIs make him think less of me?
I’d appreciate your advice.
Maezawa answers:
I think asking someone to use protection is perfectly normal, so I don’t think it will lower their opinion of you.
Bringing up STI testing might possibly make you seem like a troublesome woman. But really, anyone who thinks that just because you brought up STI testing is the one being unreasonable. I hope the day comes when people can talk openly about STI testing as a normal matter.
That’s why Universe recommends getting a Partners Check at one of our affiliated clinics. There’s a link on the member page, so you can apply from there.
Also, if you’re going to bring it up with a man, simply saying that you haven’t been tested yourself won’t get you very far. So I think it may be a good idea to get a Partners Check yourself first.
Once you take the Partners Check, it will also be noted on your member page.
If you test the samples yourself at home and send them in:
Women: ¥9,180 including tax with a coupon
Men: ¥8,200 including tax with a coupon
If you go directly to an affiliated clinic:
¥9,700 including tax for both men and women, when you mention that you were referred by Universe Club.
