I’ve continued seeing a man I thought was very gentlemanly and wonderful, but after being intimate a few times, his true nature(?) has gradually started to show. He moans like a woman, and in a cutesy, clingy way says things like, “Let’s kiss♪” I’m not an S-type at all, so seeing an older man act needy has really turned me off. I enjoyed our meals and conversations, as well as being intimate with him at first, so I’d like to continue seeing him if possible. How should I explain this to him? Would it come across badly if I mentioned during a normal conversation, “I signed up because I wanted to be pampered, so I’m not good at being the one someone depends on”?

I’m naturally more on the submissive side, but I also enjoy taking the dominant role. It’s fun not only to have things done to me, but also to please the other person—and it makes me feel good too. I think the best kind of pleasure is when you comfort each other and both feel fulfilled. That said, I won’t force anything. If we’re not compatible, it’s best to just move on.

If he’s looking for something other than sex, I think your only option is to play along and adapt to what he wants. The same goes when choosing a marriage partner—no one is perfect in every way.

I think this is basically a communication issue. Over the course of a few intimate encounters, the man is probably trying different things and figuring out what works. If the woman doesn’t give him clear feedback, he may end up going in the wrong direction. So criticizing him afterward feels a little unfair to me. I think reactions like that should happen naturally in the moment. If she says afterward, as though they’re having a review meeting, “I didn’t like what you did then,” it doesn’t really register. And being given a blanket evaluation like, “It’s creepy when you act needy,” would just make me pull away. Can’t you communicate normally in the moment? If something bothers you, respond less enthusiastically or pull back a little. If you like it, react positively or move your body toward him. I think that gets the message across well enough. On the other hand, if you can’t have that kind of conversation, I think it’s better to reconsider the relationship—or look for someone else. —Taro

If your sexual chemistry is truly amazing, you’ll enjoy spending time together no matter what you do. They’ve simply shown their true colors, so you’re better off ending things sooner rather than later.
