I think it may help to consider what you would do if the other person were your romantic partner.
When a relationship has just started, many women tend not to say too much. With that in mind, I think the same applies when the other person is a papa (a male supporter): if you’ve only recently started seeing him, it’s probably better not to say too much.
That said, it’s different if something is completely unacceptable.
Once some time has passed and you’ve become close enough to talk openly about almost anything, I think it’s fine to say whatever is on your mind.
Still, there’s a saying that even close relationships require manners, so I think you should be careful about how you phrase things. But if you’ve grown close, it will probably be fine in most cases.

Only you can judge what kind of person he is.
I think it’s best to be honest only when you’re prepared for the possibility that he may cut you off.
