I’m in Seattle.
It was 23.15. If I lose any more weight, my cheeks start to look gaunt.
I guess it’s fine since I’m healthy. 180 cm, 75 kg.

I don’t mind if you have a bit of extra weight. I also like guys who are slim and toned, of course. I’m not too particular about body type.

I don’t think being too thin is good for your health either.
If you have muscle and your BMI is 19, wouldn’t that be too thin, as she pointed out?

For a man, a BMI of 19 usually just means he’s skinny without much muscle, doesn’t it?
If you have very little body fat, your abs can look six-pack defined even without much muscle, simply because that’s their natural shape.
People who do a lot of marathon running or hill climbing may have no problem maintaining that BMI, but if you’re aiming for a lean, muscular physique, I think you need to do some weight training as well.

Mine is around 19–20, depending on the time of year.
To Mac:
I don’t like men who are so skinny that their pelvic bones stick out, even if they’re well-endowed. I also don’t like men who are so overweight that flesh hangs over their pubic bone. If you’re at either extreme, I’d like you to aim for a healthy body shape.

My answer may not be especially relevant since I’m a woman, but I’m 17.
A lean, toned physique is nice, but as you get older, it can sometimes start to make you look like someone who’s done too much yoga—or even a piece of driftwood. So I’d recommend strength training to build up your chest.

With a BMI of 19, and I mean this with all due respect, you’re just slim—not exactly muscular, right?
It depends on your height, but I’d estimate that your combined total for the barbell squat, bench press, and deadlift is at most around 200.
There’s no fixed definition of “slim-muscular,” but you’d ideally need a BMI of at least 21, and a combined total of 250 or more for those lifts. Preferably over 300.
For the record, I’m short, bald, metabolically obese, and built like a backpack, so my BMI is around 40.
