Good evening ✨ Why is it that men—especially those involved in papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan)—don’t take better care of their skin or physique even though they can afford to? Many women seem to do all kinds of things, like getting laser treatments for their skin and taking vitamins, but when I see papa supporters with skin covered in age spots and wrinkles, I can’t help but find it rather unattractive...

In my answer just before this one, I said I don’t spend money on myself, but I realized within seconds that wasn’t true. Sorry. I live frugally, but I spend a ton on beauty and grooming. It’s rare for me to meet a woman with a more defined waist than mine, and I’m almost a C cup myself, if you can believe it. I work hard to maintain my figure from head to toe. I can handle the ekiben position with women of any size, and I spend loads on things like removing spots, hair removal, and dental care. On the other hand, when I look at women, I sometimes find myself thinking: “Why don’t they have a defined waist? They should work on their abs.” A man who wins

I’m Taro, a male member. It’s true that I don’t really go to places like men’s esthetic salons, haha. I’m kind of a Showa-era guy, so I’ve always felt that what’s inside matters more than appearances. I also tend to think that wrinkles add character, like a well-used leather item. Part of me wonders what I think about women going to plastic surgeons or esthetic salons, too. I’m from the generation that was captivated by *Roman Holiday* and applauded Audrey Hepburn for aging beautifully and on her own terms. I guess it’s a difference in culture. I’m not carrying a gut, and I do take care of myself, but more than maintaining my appearance or physique, I’m focused on preserving my physical ability. When it comes to dealing with a random attacker or a disaster, wisdom is important, but in the end, it comes down to being physically capable. Conversely, if I can maintain that, I don’t really care what my body shape looks like. If I could become an agile fat guy, I’d be perfectly fine with that.

I’m Dai, a male member. Spots and wrinkles aren’t dirty or disgusting. It’s the questioner’s mindset—thinking of aging as filthy—that’s ugly. I agree that you should take care of your figure, since poor health can result otherwise. Incidentally, my BMI is around 21, so I’m in perfectly healthy shape.
