I think you should wear it at least once. It’s always nice to see someone wearing a gift you gave them.
They might realize it looks a little cheap. You could even wear something else in a way that makes it look like that. It might make them want to give you something nicer.

I always wear anything I’m given on our next date. Even if I don’t really like it, I put it on before I arrive at the meeting place.
Even if it’s a tiny little diamond necklace, if I wear it and say, “It’s cute,” they’ll naturally think, “Sorry it’s so small,” and start choosing even nicer things for me.
If you put yourself in the other person’s shoes, wouldn’t you want to respond in a way that makes them happy?

For ¥16,000, I would’ve been happier with something like a slightly nicer bath towel.
I once received a large, long necklace that really wasn’t my style and never wore it even once. Then, for my birthday, he gave me diamond earrings instead. I’d never worn a long necklace before and didn’t even know how to style it, though.
