Question about ratings for men: Women’s star ratings go down if they cancel on the day of or the day before. Does the same apply to men?

Maezawa from the CEO’s office here. No, a man’s rating can go up or down based on women’s feedback. That’s why, as far as I know, a man’s rating doesn’t necessarily drop if he cancels the day before. Men pay a setup fee in the first place. There’s currently no system for forfeiting that fee, but canceling still means there’s a chance the money paid to the club could end up being completely wasted. So the assumption is that men generally won’t cancel the day before unless they have a serious reason. For women, on the other hand, there’s a certain sense of freedom because they haven’t paid anything, whether they go or not. The rating system is used to discourage them from making last-minute cancellations. I feel bad saying this to women who have never canceled at the last minute, but there have been quite a few such cancellations, so the idea of requiring a deposit has come up and then disappeared several times. A deposit would be money that is returned if you go on the date, but not returned if you cancel at the last minute. On the men’s side, for example, travel agencies often charge a 100% cancellation fee for canceling the day before, and 50% for canceling a week in advance. So it’s clear that simply charging money doesn’t necessarily prevent last-minute cancellations. It might make sense to have a cancellation fee system similar to that used by travel agencies, but at the moment, not that many men cancel, so I think the situation is that it isn’t necessary to go that far.
