I can only imagine what you’re going through. The easiest way for people to get by is to rely on their families, but it sounds like that isn’t an option for you either. Japan is an unforgiving country for young people without anyone to rely on, like you.
Depending on the people you meet, I believe you can get back on your feet. I hope someone wonderful comes into your life and helps you.

I think Tokyo has some major disadvantages. With so many people, wages tend to be lower, while expenses are higher. I’d suggest Fukuoka, where living costs are lower; Osaka, which is convenient and affordable if you choose the right area; or Okinawa, where wages are low but it’s harder to end up literally starving.
For now, it may be best to move somewhere with lower living costs and earn money online. Tokyo does have the advantage of letting you efficiently find information offline that isn’t available online, but the high cost of living can be tough.

Tokyo has the highest minimum wage, so I imagine earnings are higher there as well.
That said, rent is expensive, and there are plenty of temptations, so you may end up spending whatever you make.
Tokyo also seems to have more shady men who prey on vulnerable people, especially those who are looking for someone to help them or who have money.
This isn’t based purely on earning potential, but cities like Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo may be better than Tokyo or Osaka, since you’re probably less likely to get taken advantage of.

I think the Greater Tokyo Area is a good option, but if you find it hard to fit in simply because of differences in speech intonation, I’d recommend a region with a similar accent.
Osaka would probably be the next-best choice after Tokyo, since many people there are warm and friendly. It really depends on what region you’re currently in, though.

Where are you moving here from?
You won’t be able to rent a place without a job. Wouldn’t you end up having no choice but to work in the nightlife or adult entertainment industry somewhere that provides housing?
If you’ve always lived in Tokyo, you may not realize it, but coming to Tokyo alone from somewhere else and working hard enough to make a decent living seems to be extremely difficult.
If you’re physically and mentally tough, give it a try.

How much you can earn depends on the type of work.
Salaries are good in Tokyo, but expenses are about just as high.
Since Nagoya has many companies in the Toyota Group, I think people there are actually quite well-off relative to their expenses.
