I’ve never been the victim of an extortion scam through a club.
Part of the reason I’m willing to spend a fair amount to meet women through a club is because I’m afraid of that happening.
If something like that were to happen, the club would presumably ban the person immediately, since rumors of such incidents could threaten the club’s very survival.
That said, I highly doubt the questioner will feel reassured by what’s being said here.

I think setting someone up for extortion through a dating club would be too much trouble for the scammers and not worth the effort（笑）.
With a club, the woman involved has to submit ID to the club, and unless she receives an offer in the first place, there’s no one to set up.
On a dating app, the scammer can make the first move, offer attractive terms, lure someone in with fake photos, and forcefully get them into a hotel. It would be easy to take pictures at that point and use them for extortion.
This is just speculation, but I imagine criminal groups would use dating apps for this.

At Universe, they thoroughly verify everyone’s identity, so I think anything suspicious would be found out pretty quickly.
I can’t say it’s 100% foolproof, but it’s probably best not to make offers to overly bubbly girls or to anyone who seems a little gloomy and hard to read.
Be sure to carefully read and listen to the staff’s comments as well.

I’ve heard about that happening on apps and dating sites, but not in dating clubs—and that was one of the reasons I joined one. Dating clubs don’t seem like a very efficient place to run a blackmail scheme.
I don’t think the risk of that kind of trouble is zero, but I haven’t heard any such stories since joining either. Still, I believe you’re ultimately the only one who can protect yourself.

I guess I’d have to identify a very famous male member and threaten to leak his information to the media.

I haven’t experienced that myself. For now, I feel comfortable meeting people safely. I don’t know whether that will continue tomorrow and beyond, though…
I believe the club staff will conduct thorough membership screenings and take other appropriate measures.
