I’m Shingo Lee (Shingori), a columnist.
Is this less about having a papa and more about a genuine romantic relationship?
If so, wouldn’t it be fine to leave things as they are?
The key to a successful relationship is to focus not on what the other person says, but on the cause-and-effect relationship between their actions and the results.
If you reduced the frequency of your LINE messages and he said, “I missed you,” but the two of you were more lovey-dovey than usual, then messaging less often was the right approach.

Two contrarians together sounds like fun.
Make him so attached to you that he can’t stay away.

If it were me, I’d initially do everything my papa (a male supporter) asked and become his ideal papa-katsu girl. That way, I’d have less competition and gradually earn his trust. Once he trusted me, I’d then decide how I wanted to proceed. That’s what I think is best.

He sounds like a complicated guy, but since the person asking is complicated too, I’d say they might actually be a pretty good match.
“Complicated” may sound negative, but you could also say that life is interesting because it’s complicated. I don’t think it’s always best to avoid that. It’s kind of endearing that the two of them are both struggling with—and enjoying—how to use LINE.
As for answering the actual question, I’m going to pass because thinking about it feels like too much effort. I genuinely found it too complicated, so please forgive me.
That was a pretty complicated answer in itself, lol.

I think it’s more about the content than the frequency that makes communication feel burdensome. Frequent, pointless LINE messages aren’t so much “too much” as they are just annoying.
I’d suggest sending a message, then gauging the situation by how quickly she responds and the tone of her replies until you find a pace that works best.
