I completely understand how Shingo Lee feels. Among the men who join dating clubs, there are plenty who are popular with women even without paying, and who can freely choose women through spot arrangements.

That’s right—I only see women I’ve personally met through pickup. That said, some of the women I’ve picked up are PJ girls, and even among women who don’t do P-katsu, I’m always interacting with women around the same age as PJs.
I may not have as much money as the papas on Universe Club, but I believe I have different kinds of experience and insights gained from them. I write columns and answer questions in the advice box in the hope of being useful to the male members.
I’m also supportive of wealthy men helping young women, even if the arrangement takes a different form. I think it’s a wonderful thing when an unmarried man with money and a woman without money but with dreams are matched with each other.
In fact, I supported a freelance worker I met through pickup, helping her turn a hobby that had previously brought in no income into a way to earn money and eventually attend a four-year university at her own expense.
She went from living in poverty on a take-home pay of ¥120,000 from working at a supermarket to earning money through her hobby, covering her own living expenses, and even attending university.
Unlike the papas, I didn’t have enough funds to keep paying for her living expenses and tuition, but I supported her free of charge while she was working toward generating income from her hobby.
