What happens in the future to people who get financial support and only date papas? They’re guaranteed to end up alone, right? Papas will die first anyway, won’t they? Someone in my class is seriously messed up.

I’ll answer as Maezawa from the CEO’s office as well. > A girl in my class is doing something crazy. I feel like you only see it that way because you haven’t experienced it yourself. It sounds a bit like saying: “What happens in the future to someone whose living expenses are supported by a company in the form of a salary, and who only ever works for that one company? Companies go bankrupt, after all.” That’s true in a sense, but there are plenty of companies. If one goes under, you can move to another company, among other options. I think papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) is similar. It might be better to look at it from a few different angles.

I’m Dai, a male member. Personally, I prefer women who have a proper job and do papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) simply to add a little extra comfort to their lives. That said, women who make a living solely through papa-katsu are savvy. Contrary to what you may think, they might be investing their money, saving up 100 million yen, and planning to spend their later years relaxing at a resort. Everyone has different ideas about what happiness means, so I think it’s best to leave them alone.

I’m Fuu, a columnist. While receiving support from my papa, I might find a boyfriend and get married. No one knows what the future holds, so it doesn’t look like I’m destined to be alone after all. If you resent other people, they might dislike you and you could end up alone, right?

I’m in Seattle. You could potentially make 100 million yen through papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan). I think you’d be many times happier than a student who’s still paying off student loans at 40. If you find a generous, long-term papa (a male supporter) like Mac, you might be set for life. There’s something alluring about a PJ who relies on me—and me alone. But if you’re using papa-katsu to lavish money on a host at a Shinjuku host club, you might end up getting arrested someday.

I’m Kazu, a male member. Things may not stay the same a few years—or even a few months—from now, so I think it’s too soon to assume you’re destined to be alone. Life is surprisingly long.
