I think it’s perfectly fine to leave him on read or just reply with a sticker. It sounds like you’re not particularly fond of your papa, so don’t force yourself.
That said, if you keep replying carelessly, there’s a good chance he’ll eventually realize, “She’s treating me pretty casually,” and cut ties with you. Whether you want to make the effort or not is up to you.

Apparently, some people will even take it upon themselves to end things, like that impatient person earlier.
