I generally avoid eating desserts—including convenience-store sweets—for the sake of my diet. The soft-serve ice cream at Ministop looks delicious, though. I’m jealous.

It’s simple: because that’s the only thing you’ve told him.
If you only mention one thing, he may think, “What if I buy something else and she doesn’t really like it?” So I think it’s perfectly normal for him to keep buying that same thing.
Even with soft-serve, if you say, “The Shine Muscat soft-serve is out now—I’d like to try it,” he’ll probably get that for you.
And if you say, “The Belgian chocolate soft-serve is out now, and I’d like to try that,” he’ll probably buy that instead.
Next time, you could say, “I’d rather have an apple mango parfait than soft-serve,” or, “In summer, Hahal○ might be more refreshing,” and he’ll probably start getting that for you.
I understand that you may not want to bluntly say, “Buy this for me,” but saying something like, “I’m kind of craving this,” is probably a good approach.
That said, “Minipu”… So that’s what people call Ministop?

Do you buy enough to keep them stocked? We can’t go without them either, and they’re so popular that we end up being made to buy plenty every time.
Soft is number one, followed by strawberry. We try limited editions and other flavors too, but even Shine Muscat is pretty underwhelming, so we always end up going back to Soft.
