Female respondents and staff, please share your recommendations.

I’m looking for a mascara that won’t smudge, as well as tips on how to apply it. My eyes quickly end up looking like panda eyes because of the steam (?) from my mask and sweat. I’ve tried various smudge-proof and waterproof mascaras, but nothing worked. I’ve also tried clear mascara, but it often turns whitish, so I wasn’t really impressed. I don’t mind whether it’s an affordable drugstore product or a high-end department-store brand, so please let me know what you recommend! My eyelashes are naturally fairly long and full, so I’m not particular about length or volume. Also, how do you all apply your mascara? Do you coat them thoroughly from the roots, or just lightly apply it to the tips? I touch up before dates, but sometimes I’m short on time, so I’d like to keep touch-ups to a minimum...
