I’ve heard that you can move up in rank if you receive a flood of offers, but how many offers would it take to qualify as a flood?

I’m Hikouki, a male member. I’ve seen women whose offers suddenly flooded in and who moved up to a higher level, but the timing was completely different depending on whether they could go on dates almost every day or could only get 4–5 days off a month. Those who could date almost every day moved up after six months to a year, while those who couldn’t get much time off did so right away… For someone who’s available every day, even if 30–40 offers come in, it’s not that difficult when you consider how many will actually work out after coordinating both people’s schedules. But if the days you can meet are limited, you can only meet a few new people each month, so once 6 or 7 offers come in, you can’t accept any more new ones.

Maezawa from the President’s Office here with an answer as well. I happened to be at a branch today, so I asked a staff member nearby. They told me, “You move up a class after five dates.” I thought, “No way,” and asked some follow-up questions. Then the explanation changed to something like: “It depends on the woman. Some women stay in the same class even after more dates. We adjust it based on how much difficulty the woman has finding dates.” So, well, I guess it’s safe to say there aren’t really any fixed criteria after all. That staff member seemed to think the basic rule was five dates, with adjustments depending on the circumstances. Apparently, they have actually moved women up a class after five dates many times.

I’m Kazu, a male member. There doesn’t seem to be a fixed number for what counts as a flood of offers, but receiving more than a dozen in a day or two would certainly feel like a lot.
