I’m a male member. I assume many of the men and women answering this also see multiple people, but how do you remember and keep track of what you’ve discussed with each person you’re seeing? I make a few notes myself and check them before meeting again. I sometimes wonder whether the women are also talking about their other papas, and when they seem to have forgotten something we discussed before, I can’t help feeling a little disappointed—especially when it’s one of my favorites. Some women even occasionally point out things I’ve forgotten, so I feel that keeping notes really is important. I’d love to hear about any frustrating experiences you’ve had and any advice you can offer.

I met two people around the same time who were about the same age and worked in similar professions. Their daughters were also around the same age, but one already had grandchildren while the other didn’t. I mentioned grandchildren to one of them, only to be told, “I don’t have any,” which made me break out in a cold sweat. Like Riichi, I’m a note-taker too, but I let my guard down and went on the second date without reviewing my notes, resulting in the awkward situation above. Of course, after going on several dates, that kind of thing doesn’t happen anymore. Marika

I’m Aya, a female member. In my case, my memory is almost annoyingly good, so I remember our conversations more clearly than my papas do. They’ve even told me it’s a little creepy lol. I’ve always been good at memorizing things.

I’m Maezawa from the CEO’s office, and I’ll answer this one too. People are forgetful by nature. I think it’s fine for you to take notes yourself, but I’m not sure it’s fair to expect the other person to do the same. That might be necessary at work, but this isn’t work. Try to be a little more understanding. It’s okay to relax and simply enjoy your time together. As you get older, you may find yourself searching for your own notes, too. And if someone told you, “I’m disappointed because you’re so forgetful,” I doubt you’d enjoy that. For now, I think you should focus more on how you can have a fun time together.
