I’ve come to feel that marriage has nothing but drawbacks.
When I got divorced, we parted peacefully and on equal terms—not because of an affair or anything like that—but I still ended up having to pay around ¥100 million. The laws on dividing marital assets are ridiculous. I can understand why Maezawa, the founder of ZOZOTOWN, has no desire to remarry.
When I see people struggling with the search for a spouse, I find myself thinking, “Why not just stay single and enjoy life instead of getting married?”
I’ll probably remain single for the rest of my life. Maybe things would be different if I’d been able to marry a good person, though.
If you’re single, don’t force yourself to marry someone unsuitable.
As long as you have money, household chores aren’t a problem at all. Thanks to Universe Club, I never feel lonely, and I’ll keep making offers for the rest of my life.
