Sorry to add another question while there have been so many questions about STIs, but I’d like to ask one as well.
I imagine many men and women see multiple partners, but how often do you get tested for STIs?
I feel that getting tested every month would be best for reducing the risk, but since it’s expensive, I go to a hospital for testing once every two months.
However, a club gentleman I met the other day mentioned that he had gotten tested for STIs while having his annual health checkup, and that he only does it once a year. I found myself wondering, “Isn’t that a little infrequent? Or am I getting tested too often?” So I’d like to hear what the respondents here think. Thank you.

You’re absolutely right.
If I hear that the other person’s last test was a month ago, I can’t help wondering whether it really means much.
That said, I imagine there are plenty of people who don’t get tested at all. Compared with them, someone who gets tested even once a year is probably considered a good person.
The questioner could also gently encourage them to shorten the interval from once a year to once every six months, then from six months to three, and eventually to every month.
It might be good to become someone who can guide things in that direction smoothly.
Getting someone who never gets tested to start can be difficult, but shortening the intervals for someone who already gets tested seems like it might be manageable. After all, they already understand that getting tested is a good idea.
For someone who arranges a date through a club, I think the other person would feel reassured if they had been tested within a month of making the offer. Basically, monthly testing seems like it would help women feel more at ease.

As a matter of courtesy when arranging a date, I include proof of testing with my offer.
Come to think of it, I haven’t made an offer recently, so I haven’t had a test in a while either (lol).

I get tested about once every three months. I don’t think home test kits are reliable, so I also get tested at a hospital.
Once a year is better than never getting tested, but I also felt that it was too infrequent.
