Sorry if this has already been asked. I’d like to know the typical annual income range of the men in each class, if possible. I’d appreciate it.

Maezawa from the president’s office here—I’ll answer this one too. Thank you for your question. When joining, men self-report their annual income, but I think most of them don’t write the truth. In particular, the higher their income, the lower they tend to report it. Even if they earn over ¥40 million a year, they may think, “Would ¥10 million be enough to put down?” On apps, many men may report an income higher than their actual income to attract women. But at dating clubs, quite a few men do the opposite. There are more disadvantages than advantages to reporting a higher income, and virtually no benefits. That said, if they report less than ¥10 million, they might be rejected when applying, so I think they settle on the lowest amount that won’t get them rejected—perhaps ¥10 or ¥20 million. There are also people whose income has decreased recently but who accumulated substantial assets because they earned a lot in the past. So I don’t think statistics about how many people earn what amount would be very meaningful. If, like SALON, annual income were part of the membership screening and people couldn’t join without providing proof of income, then it might be possible to compile meaningful statistics. But that isn’t how we operate. (It’s simply not necessary.) The same goes for membership classes. Basically, only people with plenty of financial leeway join the higher classes. However, some people with plenty of money still choose to join a lower class. They may feel that a certain level is worth the price, but anything beyond that isn’t. I sometimes wonder whether they view women in the same way. In reality, though, they may have more money than members in the Black class.

I’m Flag Maker, a columnist. I earn 10 million yen a year, but I’m constantly bouncing between Platinum and Gold membership. It may sound presumptuous to say this myself, but I do think I’m doing a pretty good job keeping up my club activities on that income.

I think it’s about time I became a standard member too. I’m Paper Airplane, a male member. So, I’m your standard poor guy with too much free time. When the time comes that I need offers again, I’ll upgrade my membership. P.S. With Letter Date, my chances of finding a Type B arrangement are practically 100% (and they tend to continue), so I’ve completely stopped needing offers… Sorry, staff…

I’m in Seattle. I don’t think a man’s membership tier matters all that much. Some male members even drop down a tier once they find a good woman. If they’ve only recently joined, then yes, I imagine most men earning hundreds of millions of yen a year and having assets worth several billion yen or more would be in the Black tier. Just guessing, but maybe there are more men in the Platinum tier—around ¥30 million a year? Gold-tier male members might be earning around ¥20 million a year?
