I’d prefer to avoid meeting during a woman’s period too. That said, I’ve never had anyone tell me only after we got to the hotel.
It’s the first meeting, right? I always say, “You don’t have to do anything you’re uncomfortable with,” so if she’s on her period, she’ll usually tell me then.
If I went to the hotel without confirming that and she told me she was on her period, I’d consider it my fault. I’d probably give her a little extra allowance and call it a day.
Still, I don’t like that kind of situation, so I usually make a point of checking beforehand.

Thanks for your question.
I think you should have tried it at least once, just to see what it was like.
How can you say you can’t do something you’ve never even tried?
Give it a try first, then decide whether or not it’s right for you.
I think that’s the least you could do.
P.S. Wait, was this about your first partner?
I assumed it was from a woman you’d already met a few times.

I’ve made a fair number of offers, but I’ve never had that happen. Of course, a few women have told me they were on their period that day, but it was always when we were just finishing dinner and discussing the allowance.
I wonder if the way you tried to bring her to your hotel room may have been too forceful.
That said, if she told me she was on her period at that point, I’d probably say we’d skip the adult relationship that day and try to get the allowance back. If it was right when I was handing it over, wouldn’t most women simply return it if I said we weren’t going ahead?
