Maezawa from the Corporate Planning Office here as well. My impression is that male members can change their names relatively easily. For women, however, staff are very likely to discourage them from changing their names if they ask. That said, I believe there have been women who changed theirs in the past, although I’m not sure what they said to get it approved. That’s how difficult it generally seemed to be. That being said, changing the name shouldn’t cause anyone any problems, since the member number stays the same. Though I apologize if the rules have changed and it’s now easy to change your name. Also, if the name registered at the interview happens to be the same as someone else’s, we do ask the member to change it, so changes like that do happen.

I’m a male member, “Paper Airplane.” Even if you change it, you won’t be treated as a new member. It seems your profile will simply say, “Changed their name,” so it probably won’t have much effect… P.S. There’s a girl who recently changed her club name and whom I added to my favorites. I’m thinking of making her an offer eventually. She joined before I did and is only re-registering, so the fact that she changed her name—or didn’t change it—has no bearing on whether I make an offer.
