I applied for an event that was listed as accepting applications, but was told I’d be put on the waiting list. Was I being indirectly turned down because I didn’t meet the requirements, such as the class of venue I use?

Rather than speculating, why not bring it up directly with the event staff?

Though, from what I’ve seen, it does seem like the women tend to gather fairly quickly...
