Everyone’s different, of course, but I think what feels good is that sense—or perhaps illusion?—that you’re being welcomed and accepted.
Though maybe answering that way is itself part of the problem.

I don’t think it necessarily feels better, but finishing outside means doing it into the air, with nothing around you… If you look at that moment in isolation, it might feel unpleasantly similar to doing it alone.
Alternatively, perhaps it satisfies a desire for control.
I have a feeling the latter is probably stronger.
