I’m Saito, a columnist♪ It may not be the most romantic answer, but isn’t it ultimately about the money? You’ll have fewer worries if you treat it as a transactional relationship.

I’m a male member of UC and a member of the new salon. I’ll share a man’s perspective as well. I’m sure some women do feel uncomfortable. However, I think it’s often less about the age gap itself and more about simply not feeling much chemistry with the person. Based on my experience—or rather, my intuition—there have been times when I felt a woman agreed with the unspoken thought of, “The terms are satisfactory, and this man is at least clean and presentable enough. I want the money for now, so I’ll say yes.” (Of course, no woman has ever put it that bluntly.) When that happens, I feel less grateful that she agreed and more like I’m imposing on her, so I don’t meet her again after the first time. I think many men active in dating clubs are able to pick up on these subtle feelings from the woman’s perspective. A lot of them also genuinely work out, take care with their appearance, and pay close attention to their cleanliness and grooming. So my comment would be: “If you feel uncomfortable with the man you actually went on a date with, there’s no need to force yourself to move on to the next stage—and it’s probably better not to.”
