I’m the person who posted that it might be a good idea to have a dating service run like a hostess club. I only meant to ask whether the idea itself was viable, but U.S.T. unexpectedly pointed out issues with each part of the system（笑）, so here’s some additional context.

First, Universe currently sets its membership and introduction fees quite high, so—put bluntly—it’s a gamble: you pay a large amount for something without knowing whether it will actually lead anywhere. With a hostess club-style service, however, we would only recruit women who were prepared for that from the outset. That would eliminate misleading profiles, and since everyone would be okay with going to a room from the first meeting, you wouldn’t end up going on several dates without things progressing. This would significantly reduce men’s unnecessary expenses. Also, since the service would charge a service fee, the setting fee could be reduced by half or even more. There would be no meal costs either. (Of course, you’d be free to go out for a meal if you wanted to.) So even if a woman turned you down, the total cost would be considerably lower. For the same amount people currently pay at Universe, they could meet three or four women instead of just one. Using web marketing as an analogy, the current Universe model makes money by setting a high PV (introduction fee), whereas the hostess club model would set the introduction fee low and make money through CV (conversion—in other words, a success fee when the introduced pair matches). That way, men could make offers to many more women, while women who complain that they never receive offers would start getting plenty of them. Both sides would have a better chance of meeting someone compatible. Misleading profiles are created to attract offers, so if offers came in without having to do anything, there would be no need for that. (Besides, we wouldn’t hire women with an A cup in the first place.) Some people may worry that eliminating or drastically reducing membership and introduction fees would let in men of a lower caliber, but we would require proper proof of income. As for the laws regulating adult entertainment businesses, I’m not familiar enough with them to comment on whether we could advertise that unprotected sex was allowed. But I suspect there might be a loophole.
