Is it true that they were investigated for illegal activity? I was considering signing up and doing some research, but now I’m starting to feel a little uneasy.

Maezawa from the Corporate Planning Office here as well. I’m not sure where that rumor came from. (Maybe it started because my answers have been a little slow lately? Haha.) If we had been investigated or arrested, we would most likely have temporarily stopped accepting new members or suspended operations. We’re operating as usual, arranging meetings every day, so please rest assured. We have not been subject to any investigation or enforcement action. For example, other clubs tell men how much allowance a woman wants, but Universe cannot provide that information. Likewise, other clubs tell men when a woman is on her period, whereas Universe does not. From a man’s perspective, that may be inconvenient, but Universe focuses strictly on arranging dinner meetings and takes care to avoid any illegal activity. So if any club were to get in trouble, I imagine it would be the clubs that tell men the amount of allowance a woman is requesting. Universe Club operates in consultation with our legal advisor, so you can feel reassured. (That said, I understand that some men may find our approach inconvenient.)
