Basically, members weren’t automatically withdrawn. However, if we’re unable to contact you, we can’t arrange a meeting even if you receive an offer, so your status will be marked as withdrawn.
That said, if you contact us in that situation, we can restore your membership, so please feel free to get in touch.
If it’s been more than six months, you may be asked to have new photos taken. However, this applies to current members as well, so I think it would be better to have new photos taken.
Also, although this may only apply in Tokyo—and it isn’t a company-wide rule—I get the impression that members are withdrawn if they haven’t received an offer for six months.
With some people saying you should wait until an offer comes in, and others saying they received an offer after a year, I do wonder whether withdrawing someone after six months is really the right approach.
That said, this seems to be handled at the branch manager’s discretion, so I can’t say for sure. It may also be changed in the future.
