Maezawa from the president’s office here. As for whether a swimsuit is necessary, our staff are also doing everything they can to get women offers. It may look like the photos are taken casually, but the women don’t necessarily want to change into swimsuits. The staff explain the purpose, get their consent, and only then take the swimsuit photos. Just as there’s feedback after a date, there’s also feedback after the interview. If feedback comes in saying, “I didn’t like being made to change into a swimsuit,” the president will come down hard on us. On top of that, everyone on the staff nationwide will hear about it, which is embarrassing too. Even so, swimsuit photos are taken with the risks understood, all to get as many offers as possible. If you don’t want to get in trouble, there’s no problem with taking photos in the clothes you came in. And if you simply stand there without being asked to do any strange poses, you won’t get negative feedback either. But women choose to take the risk and be photographed in swimsuits because it’s all to help them receive offers. The reason for the swimsuit is that it makes slim women and women with great figures look their most attractive. Highlighting your best features is basic. And women in swimsuits do receive more offers than other women. Incidentally, because Maezawa used to take nothing but avant-garde photos, the president banned him from taking swimsuit photos. (笑) Those members who have met me are probably thinking, “That figures...” and nodding in agreement. (笑)

I’m Rula, a male member of UC and the new salon. Speaking as one male member, I don’t decide whether to make an offer—or, as in your case, not to make one—based on whether someone has swimsuit photos. That said, a swimsuit makes it easier to see a woman’s figure, so for men, it can be useful in deciding whether her body type matches their preferences. In that sense, I think having swimsuit photos can be worthwhile.
