I’m a male member. With a monthly arrangement, I don’t think this is an issue, but for pay-per-meeting arrangements, do you vary the allowance depending on whether it’s dinner only or there’s an adult relationship (intimate)? Or do you always give the same amount?

Maezawa from the President’s Office here. I think this varies from man to man, so the best you can do is look at responses from many people and take them as, “At the very least, this is what some people do.” In other words, what the person you’re dating does—or what people generally do—may not be all that relevant. That said, speaking in general terms, when a second or subsequent date is dinner only, many people seem to match the allowance given for a first date through Universe. So I think many women receive somewhere between ¥5,000 and ¥10,000. However, free-form relationships are determined through discussion between the two people, and some may feel that dinner should mean ¥0. That’s why I wanted to give that context first. On the other hand, once a man really likes a woman, whether or not they have an adult relationship (intimate) may become less important. His focus shifts to simply being able to see her, so it’s entirely possible that he would give her the same amount even without an adult relationship.

I’m Saito, a columnist ♪ As for dinner and adult relationships, in my case, the allowance depends on how long we’ve been seeing each other. If it’s been over a year: I give the same amount for both dinner and an adult relationship. If it’s been less than a year: I don’t do dinner-only dates, since they feel like a waste of time.
