Legally speaking, you have absolutely no obligation to return it.
Once you received it as a gift, it became yours. If you think of it as the other person demanding that you hand over something that belongs to you, you can see how unreasonable that is.
It may help to think of it this way: you only need to return something you borrowed.
Even if he claims that it wasn’t a gift and that he merely lent it to you, it’s his responsibility to prove that it was a loan. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t be able to do so.
Even if he claims that the gift was given on the condition that you continue an intimate relationship, an agreement of that nature would not be legally enforceable, so there’s no need to worry.
Also, meeting someone who is angry in person can be dangerous. If he continues to harass you, the Club can contact him on your behalf, so please speak with our staff.
