When I look at the women’s photos on the website, I notice that many of them feature somewhat suggestive photos or poses. In my case, I wasn’t asked to do any poses like that at all. Could that affect the offers I receive?

I’m Saito, a column writer♪ Some men may get their hopes up when they see a provocative pose, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Even among women who post such suggestive photos, I feel there are many Type B women who aren’t actually looking for that kind of relationship. That said, when it comes to the initial stage of whether they’ll receive an offer, those photos may have a significant impact.

Maezawa here with an answer. Photos have a major impact on the offers you receive. That doesn’t necessarily mean revealing photos are best—sometimes photos with a more refined, wholesome look attract plenty of offers. Even for the same woman, it’s perfectly normal to start receiving several offers simply because her photos were changed. That shows just how important they are. The fact that there weren’t any particularly revealing poses was largely due to the staff member who conducted your interview. About half of our staff are men, so if a woman seems difficult to ask for more revealing photos, they often just take ordinary ones. If you phrase it badly, she may glare at you. Sometimes someone will let us take the photos normally on the spot, only for feedback to come later saying she didn’t like them. That feedback is shared with staff nationwide, so it can be quite a shock. There are also times when internal staff criticize us, saying things like, “What do you think you’re doing with photos like these?” even when no feedback has come in. (笑) That said, I personally took fairly revealing photos without worrying too much about it… (笑) If you’ve been wondering about those kinds of photos and would also be comfortable with them, please contact the branch where you registered. Something along the lines of: “Other women had much more revealing photos taken, but mine weren’t like that. I’d also like to have more revealing photos, so could you take them again?” Personally, I’d be happy to see such an enthusiastic woman and would invite her back for a reshoot right away. However, it depends on how busy each branch is, so there’s a possibility they may decline. The branches also have revealing outfits available, but it might be a good idea to bring your own swimsuit and have photos taken in that.
