Maezawa will answer this one too.
I once had a man I’d gone on a date with demand his money back, saying my photos were too flattering and that I didn’t look like much in person.
When I told him I couldn’t refund him because we had already gone on the date, he demanded that I set him up with another woman for free. When I said that wasn’t possible either, he told me:
“I’ll post about you online. Is that really okay with you? This is going to become a big problem.”
Looking back, that was extortion.
I probably could have recorded it and filed a complaint for extortion. He also said things like, “My wife is prettier than you,” so if I had reported him, his wife might have found out too, and things could have gotten very messy.
If someone tried to extort me like that, I would stand my ground without hesitation. (笑)
That said, Universe basically doesn’t do anything we need to feel guilty about. We even impose enough self-regulation to the point that some members complain—for example, we don’t tell men when a woman is on her period, and we don’t ask about or disclose the amount of allowance she wants, among various other things.
So in the first place, I don’t think situations arise where we have to stand our ground so firmly.
We also have a legal adviser, so we’re fully prepared to deal with issues decisively.
Please rest assured.
