It’s the eternal question, haha.
Some men suddenly change the moment you enter the room.
There’s really no way to know, is there?
It’s like a gacha—you just have to enjoy the hits and misses. Of course, I think the hits are pretty rare.

By “deciding later,” do you mean that it’s difficult to settle things after dinner but before moving on?
Or, if the negotiation takes place at a hotel, do you want to decide the amount based on whether the experience was good or not? It may be that the “chemistry” you have in mind is mainly about physical compatibility.
Personally, I’d be happy if you first got a feel for each other through conversation, personality, and so on, and then entered into an arrangement with someone who thought, “I really want to date her! I’m willing to pay an allowance for that!”
As a possible solution, how about giving her an additional amount afterward if you were especially satisfied with the relationship? Put bluntly, it would be like an athlete’s contract with a base salary plus performance-based pay…
That said, it may still leave a bad impression, and there’s a good chance she may turn you down.
From the woman’s perspective, she may also feel uncomfortable with the idea of being told afterward, “It wasn’t very good, so here’s ¥10,000.” For that reason, I think it would be difficult to establish an arrangement where the amount is decided later.
Your feelings are important, but I hope you’ll also take the other person’s feelings into consideration.
