Are there really that many women running “relationship-type scams”?

Maezawa here as well. Overall, I think dating-type fraud is relatively uncommon. However, for men who have gone on dates with women like that, it’s a serious problem, so I think complaints naturally come up in various places. Universe also considers this an issue internally, which is why they’ve been tightening their interview process. > What would motivate them to do something so poorly rewarding? This is just speculation, so I could be completely off, but I think it starts with thoughts like: “There are lots of wealthy people at Universe. I’d really like to meet one of them. I’d like to talk with one and hear about their experiences. I want to know what kind of amazing world they live in.” They want to meet those kinds of men, but only to talk—nothing physical. In that case, they choose Dating Type A. But then, after looking into it, they hear that no offers come to women with that type. If no offers come, there’s no point, so they choose a dating type that is more likely to attract offers. I think that’s probably what’s happening. There are also some women who are happy simply to receive even 5,000 yen on rare occasions, but I think many are primarily looking forward to meeting these men in the first place. So although they don’t really want an intimate relationship, some women respond according to their registered dating type because they feel it’s necessary in order to meet wealthy men. Ideally, Universe could offer women with Dating Type A for free, for example. Then even Type A women would receive a reasonable number of offers, and I feel that would eliminate dating-type fraud as well. Hopefully, things will improve in the future. P.S. Regarding the 50% point, I was referring to situations where it would be a problem if someone interpreted it as meaning, “So there’s a 50% chance with each individual person, right?”
