I’m a male member.

When I look through the women’s profiles, I sometimes see regional Black members described as “She’s a wonderful woman, so the setting fee is ¥100,000,” or Platinum members described as “She’s a wonderful woman, so the setting fee is ¥60,000.” Isn’t this against the club’s rules? When I was first given an explanation, I wasn’t told that some women had these unusual setting fees. I also feel that giving only certain women special treatment by increasing their setting fees is questionable. If the club is going to do this, I think it would be better to set individual setting fees for all the women from the start, or further subdivide the membership classes. They describe these women as “wonderful,” but does that mean they don’t think the other women are wonderful? If they mean “particularly wonderful women,” what specifically distinguishes them from other women in the same class? To begin with, shouldn’t it be the male members going on the dates—not the staff—who decide whether a woman is wonderful? These are the questions I have. I’d like to hear various opinions—whether you think I’m overthinking it, or whether you feel that, now that it’s been pointed out, it does make sense.
