I’m a male member, and I have a question about the four-hour rule mentioned earlier. If I’m arranging to meet a Type B woman on the condition that we’ll part ways after dinner only, and I already know the meal will last around three hours, should I let her know when I make the offer?

I’m Saito, the columnist♪ Three hours… Would that be at a Michelin-starred Japanese or French restaurant? If it were me, I’d bring it up beforehand—or ask him to clarify: “If this is going to take a while, I’d like to set the transportation allowance at ¥X and have a car ready for your trip home. Would that still be okay?” It’s quicker to simply confirm things that way. Everyone sees things differently, so if you have even the slightest hesitation, it’s better to address it in advance and enjoy yourselves without any problems later.
