I’m Saito♪, a columnist.
Just like you, I used to think the same thing—or rather, I actually did it.
At events like LSE, men would get to know one another, and I went out to eat with other men several times.
I also used to write a blog, and through it I organized papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) meetups.
Both were wonderful experiences, but once the restaurant bills got expensive, people would start asking for receipts, and so on. The differences in income became painfully obvious.
(It gradually took the fun out of things.)
I used to tell the club, “We should have a meetup sometime, right?” But lately, I don’t really feel that way anymore.
(Maybe the desire to attend a meetup is just a passing phase people go through at first?)
If I had to name anyone, there are only two male members I still exchange messages with frequently on LINE.
Also, although this may sound like club advertising, we sometimes use the club to organize dinner gatherings with female members—five male members and five female members, for example.
(New offers come in as well, and the club staff work hard to bring together sociable women.)
