So, the situation is this:
Now all that’s left is “chemistry ≒ money.”
Maximum excitement!!!
But then the woman’s requested amount turns out to be, “Hmm, that’s pretty high...”
When that happens,
1. Smile, pay her asking price, and go for it.
2. Gracefully retreat.
Which option do you prefer?
Personally, I jump in imagining that maybe something wonderful will come of it—but more often than not, I end up being terribly disappointed.
Although it says the question is for male members, the preferred respondents were listed as “anyone,” so I’ll answer too.

I thought those two choices were very gentlemanly.
If everyone stuck to those two options, there wouldn’t be any trouble.
Apparently, women leave negative feedback for people who choose a third option—and it may even include a lecture.
So while I wrote that having only two choices was impressive, if the situation is:
“The amount she wants is… wow, that’s expensive…”
and it’s okay to choose:
“2. Gracefully withdraw,”
then perhaps a variation of option 2 could work:
“I had something around this amount in mind, so shall we just have dinner today and call it a night?”
That might be an option too.
That said, if someone chose:
“1. Smile, pay her asking price, and go for it,”
I’d think that was pretty cool.

And unfortunately, the same thing happens far too often. Haha.
Once they manage to make an arrangement at that amount even once, I’m sure they go on to tell other men, “I’ve received an allowance of ¥〇〇 before,” spreading the damage even further. Haha.
That’s definitely a common one. Haha.
