I believe Universe Club only cooperated with information disclosure when legally required to do so. In this case, if you’re claiming damages from the woman through a lawyer, that wouldn’t be a claim for damages against Universe Club, so it wouldn’t constitute grounds for them to disclose information. You can probably find out what qualifies as a legally valid request by looking into it. That said, I don’t think they disclosed information for civil matters. So you probably don’t need to worry about Universe Club exposing you. More often, the wife finds the woman’s contact information on her husband’s phone or elsewhere and contacts her directly. Whether you should respond at that stage is difficult to say. If you think it would be hard for her to trace the contact information back to you, it’s probably best not to meet her and simply ignore her. If it seems like she might be able to track you down, I think you should prepare some form of defense—for example, gathering evidence that you didn’t know he had a wife. If you’re sued, there’s a high possibility that you’ll end up having to pay damages, so you should consult a lawyer about how to handle that. The best approach would be to send something by LINE or email such as: “You don’t have a wife, right? I can’t be involved with you if you do.” Then get a clear written response like: “I don’t have a wife, so don’t worry.” In other words, keep evidence showing that you genuinely didn’t know. Even with messages like these, you’re not guaranteed to win. But if the other party’s lawyer thinks it would be difficult to win a case based on that evidence, they may decide not to sue in the first place.
