I'm a woman in my 30s and plan to attend an interview soon. Is either Yokohama or Ginza better as a registration location?

As everyone has mentioned, even if you interview in Ginza, you’ll still be registered with the Yokohama branch. When I’m looking for women, I select Omiya, Tokyo, Yokohama, and Chiba in the search filters. Since women from all of those branches can meet in Tokyo, I don’t really pay much attention to which branch they belong to. I think most papas around Tokyo search in pretty much the same way. Whether I like her face and figure is more important to me than where she lives.

In a big city, more people will notice you, but there’s also more competition. So either way, I think registering with either one will be about the same.

If you live in Kanagawa, you’ll be registered in Yokohama. If you live in Tokyo, you’ll be registered in Tokyo. Also, Tokyo isn’t divided into areas such as Ginza, so your registration will simply be listed as “Tokyo.” > Do men also make offers to women registered somewhere other than their own registration area? Men can make offers nationwide, so they may also contact women registered outside their own area. That said, many men are looking for a long-term arrangement, so I think they’re more likely to make offers to women who live nearby. However, some men spend about half their time in a particular city due to business trips or similar reasons, and in those cases, they often make offers in that area.

You can’t choose your registered location unless you move. No matter which branch you interview at, your registered branch and area will be determined by where you live. Also, if you want to keep open the possibility of having the staff personally promote you to male members, I recommend interviewing at the branch where you’re likely to be registered. If the branch where you interview differs from your registered branch, only your profile may be transferred, while individual outreach to male members may not be. Men can make offers to women outside their registered area as well, but it’s still probably best to interview at the branch that covers your address.

If you have an immediately noticeable appeal, like your looks, I think Ginza would be better. If you’re more of a slow-burn type, Yokohama should work well. Tokyo simply has a lot more registered members. Men can view either the women’s directory or the top page—the “What’s New” type of screen—and my impression is that women disappear from the first page after about two weeks. In Yokohama and similar areas, there are fewer registered members than in Tokyo, so you tend to stay on the first page longer. If a man lives in Tokyo, I think he probably checks all of Tokyo and the three surrounding prefectures. But if he lives in Chiba, whether he’ll bother looking at Yokohama is questionable. So it’s true that Tokyo, being at the center of the Venn diagram, has an advantage in terms of the number of people viewing profiles. Even a man from Chiba who thinks Yokohama is too far might still send an offer if you’re registered in Tokyo. (And then he tells you the last train is early and leaves you crying, lol.) That said, as I mentioned earlier, profiles disappear in an instant, so the key is whether you can catch someone’s attention during that brief window. You can promote yourself afterward through comments and private photos, but ultimately the same pattern applies. If you can’t win the high-speed “flowing somen” race, you’ll be stuck fighting an uphill battle. In Yokohama, things move relatively slowly, so people can keep seeing your profile over a longer period. When men in Tokyo log in, their default search setting is Tokyo, so I think many of them first browse women in Tokyo and then narrow the search to the three neighboring prefectures. Even if your profile gets buried in Tokyo, you may still appear fairly high in the nearby prefectures. They might click on you casually, see your profile several times, and gradually start feeling like sending an offer. Oh, you also asked about the type of men, didn’t you? I think Tokyo has more high-income men. People who succeed in business and move their address from another region to Tokyo probably contribute to that. However, keep in mind that income level and how much someone is willing to spend on women aren’t necessarily the same thing. (Of course, there is also the fact that you can’t spend money you don’t have.) This is the kind of thing that could be answered definitively by analyzing login and profile-view data, so I hope Maezawa-san will work hard on that, haha. After seeing the news that ANA had its highest number of bookings since the pandemic began—almost back to 90% of the bookings from the same period before COVID—I’m Paper Airplane, and I’m honestly a little moved by how Universe Club seems to have made an almost complete comeback at exactly the same time. It’s changed so dramatically lately that I’d started wondering if things would ever return to how they were before COVID... Just like with the person asking this question, I imagine new memberships are increasing rapidly. Women who are considering joining should probably act quickly. Given the recent momentum, I suspect they’ll no longer need to keep accepting virtually anyone and everyone, as they did during the past few years of the pandemic. In particular, things may become considerably more difficult for Type A women if they don’t move soon. If you don’t join soon, the day may come when it’s difficult to receive offers if you’re the kind of person who agonizes over little details like this. Rather than worrying about it, just go to the interview and ask. They’ll probably answer questions about registering your place of residence and anything else you’d like to know.
