I’m the person who asked this question.
A male member kindly replied, but I didn’t understand the suggestion to “contact the staff and have the password changed.” Does this mean that staff ask users for their passwords and change them directly? If that’s how things are handled, I find it very concerning.
This isn’t about whether I trust the staff or not. Passwords are something that must never be shared with anyone. No one other than the user should know them.
Also, there are only ○○ password combinations for ○○○. Having members continue to use passwords with such a limited number of combinations, without even allowing them to change them, is extremely dangerous. I think it’s a serious issue for staff at a company that handles member information not to understand how risky this is.
I would like an answer from a staff member, not a member. Why is the member site designed so that passwords cannot be changed? Is there some reason or intention behind preventing members from changing their passwords?

I don’t see any problem with using a four-digit number, like the one on your bank card.
It’s not as though any damage is going to come of it.

It’s actually the opposite…
If the system allows passwords to be changed, that means there’s a risk of being hacked, so it’s not safe at all.
By the way, setting up a password-change system is easy.

If you’re a female member, you have a branch office you’re registered with, right?
I’m telling you that it would be faster to call them and ask for help.

Wouldn’t it be enough to contact your branch and have them change it? Banks and credit card companies don’t let you change your password directly from the website either—you have to go through the proper procedures…
Wouldn’t it actually be more concerning if password changes were so easy that someone else could impersonate you and change it?
P.S. Hmm? Maybe you’re not a member, and your boyfriend, husband, girlfriend, or wife is using the service—and you’re planning to change the password so you can snoop on them? That’s scary!
