I realize this may sound presumptuous coming from a university student, but I have a question.
Looking through this Q&A site, I get the impression that men with social status and sharp minds also expect women to have a suitable level of knowledge and experience, which makes me wonder whether there’s really any demand for university students. In practice, I feel that youth is about the only thing I have to offer, but would attending a reasonably well-known university make men regard me more highly?
Maezawa here—I’ll answer as well.
I don’t think they’re necessarily looking for women with a lot of knowledge. It’s more about the ability to interact with people and hold a conversation that comes from life experience—in other words, women who are fun to be around.
I’m not sure whether attending a fairly well-known university makes someone stand out, but I think being from an extremely prestigious university gets you noticed in much the same way it does in mainstream society.
It’s like when people say, “Oh, she went to the University of Tokyo.” When someone from a highly prestigious university does something, it tends to attract attention.
Even if it doesn’t make someone especially stand out, some people do prefer women from well-known universities, so I think it can be one factor that leads to offers. But it’s not everything.
On dating apps and similar services, youth can be a selling point. However, at dating clubs, many people prefer women around 25–35, so being young may not be much of an advantage to them.
Of course, there are also men for whom youth is appealing—men who like younger women or students—so it really depends on the individual.
