That happened to me too~
For me, getting to my registered branch and back costs around ¥3,000–¥3,800.
I have to drive from home to the station since there’s no bus, then pay for parking at the station plus the round-trip train fare. It takes about an hour and a half to two hours to reach the branch.
The transportation allowance for the first meeting literally just covers my travel expenses.
I’m not in Tokyo, and there isn’t a branch nearby, so I think there are quite a few people who get creative with their travel arrangements when registering at a club♪

The fact that your question says “all the way to Tokyo…” means you’re not based in Tokyo, right?
A little while ago, someone asked whether they could register in Tokyo even though they weren’t from there. Have you looked into the previous questions?
When you make an appointment for the initial consultation, try calling to ask whether you can register in Tokyo and about the interview preparation. You’ll get a clearer answer by asking them directly.
I’ve heard that allowances tend to be lower in regional areas.
Also, fewer supporters tend to make offers to people in their teens. Are you okay with that? Did you research this beforehand, including the fact that about half of them may receive no offers at all?
A papa (a male supporter) isn’t a friend. Try calling once to make an appointment for the initial consultation, think it over carefully, and then go ahead with the interview.

That’s not in Tokyo, right? Even the fare from Okutama Station to Tokyo Station is ¥1,270. Around Katsunuma, just before Kofu, it’s ¥2,000.
There are branches in Saitama, Chiba, and Kanagawa, but since there isn’t one in Yamanashi, you might be able to register with the Tokyo branch.
The last train would be sometime in the 10 p.m. hour, but if you start at 6 p.m., you should be able to make it work. And if he has a car, anywhere within a 100-kilometer radius is practically his backyard, so he may be the one to go to you.

There probably aren’t any places within Tokyo that cost ¥2,000 one way by train, so you’d end up going outside Tokyo and wouldn’t be registered under Tokyo.
Around Tokyo, there are branches in places like Yokohama, Omiya, and Chiba.
But if you’re in Yamanashi, and Tokyo is the closest neighboring area, would you be registered under Tokyo?
If so, I think you could register.

You naturally think of places like Otsuki or Yamanashi, right?
Can you get as far as Katsunuma for ¥2,000?

I’m not sure what area would cost 2,000 yen one way to Tokyo, but if you live within Tokyo, you’ll be registered as a Tokyo member.
You can register if you pass the interview.
Also, there’s currently a promotion: if you come in for an interview, you spin a roulette wheel and receive an Amazon gift card worth either 2,000 yen, 3,000 yen, ? yen, or 30,000 yen. I’ve forgotten how much the “?” amount was, but I think it was either 5,000 or 10,000 yen.
Naturally, the odds of getting 30,000 yen are lower, but apparently one staff member said they’d had two people win it in a single month, so it seems to come up fairly often.
If you interview now, you’ll get at least a 2,000-yen Amazon gift card, which covers half of the transportation cost to Universe. And if you’re lucky, you could get one worth 30,000 yen, so it seems like a pretty good deal.
